Here’s how to make the perfect red wine sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 250ml SLW Red Wine
  • 500ml beef or lamb stock
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour
  • salt and pepper, to taste.

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan over a medium heat, fry the shallot and garlic in the olive oil until softened.
  2. Add the red wine and beef or lamb stock, and bring to a boil.
  3. Add the thyme leaves and cornflour, and season with salt and pepper to taste
  4. Stir until the sauce has thickened, then serve immediately alongside your roast beef or lamb.
