Here’s how to make the perfect red wine sauce:
Ingredients:
- 1 shallot, diced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 250ml SLW Red Wine
- 500ml beef or lamb stock
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 2 tablespoons cornflour
- salt and pepper, to taste.
Method
- In a medium saucepan over a medium heat, fry the shallot and garlic in the olive oil until softened.
- Add the red wine and beef or lamb stock, and bring to a boil.
- Add the thyme leaves and cornflour, and season with salt and pepper to taste
- Stir until the sauce has thickened, then serve immediately alongside your roast beef or lamb.
