Although everyone’s tastes vary when it comes to wine (some love a crisp Rosé, others prefer a refreshing white wine, whilst others enjoy a robust red!), it is generally agreed that a good wine is one that has a balanced flavour profile. It should have a pleasing aroma and taste, with notes of fruit, spice, earthiness, and/or oak depending on the type of wine. A good wine also has enough complexity to make it interesting yet still easy to drink. The tannins should be balanced so that the wine isn’t too astringent or harsh. Additionally, a good wine should have a pleasant finish that lingers on the palate.
It’s not just the grapes and the terroir that contribute to the flavour profile of delicious wine – it’s also the manufacturing process. SLW wines are made from the best quality grapes using traditional techniques. Our innovative fermentation process uses carefully selected natural yeasts to convert all the natural sugars into alcohol to produce great-tasting wines without sugar or carbohydrates, creating flavourful wines that are lower in calories than standard wines. We also use fewer sulphites to create our delicious wines.
