Which white wine is sweet?

Fancy a sweet white wine this week but aren’t sure what the options are? We’re here to help. Here are three of our favourite sweet white wines:

Riesling: a German white wine with characteristic sweetness and high acidity.

Gewürztraminer: another German white wine, often described as ‘exotic’ due to its distinctively spicy flavour.

Moscato d’Asti: an Italian sparkling wine with a delicate sweetness and low alcohol content.

What foods do sweet white wines go with?

Sweet white wines are often served as an aperitif or with dessert, as their sweetness pairs well with rich or savoury dishes. Riesling is particularly good with spicy food, as the sweetness helps to balance out the heat. Gewürztraminer is also a good choice for spicy food, or for dishes with Asian flavours. And Moscato d’Asti is the perfect foil for rich, creamy desserts.
